Tata Nexon EV facelift unveil today: Range, expected price, battery

Tata Motors recently unveiled the Nexon facelift in India with an all-new design inside and outside, and now, the company is all set to unveil the fully-electric Nexon EV facelift later today. The company has so far released a few teasers of the updated electric SUV, hinting at a few noteworthy changes over the 2023 ICE Nexon.

Even though the recently revealed teaser confirms that the Tata Nexon EV faceliftwill get the same new front-end design with the split headlamp setup as the Nexon facelift, it also reveals that the EV will get an additional LED strip running across the nose, connecting the DRLs on top.

The front grille will make way for an enclosed unit on the battery-powered Nexon, which will be one of the biggest distinguishing factors, apart from the blue elements here and there.
Other styling changes will include new alloy wheels, connected LED tail lights, a redesigned rear bumper, as well as a much more premium cabin with a floating 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a similarly sized fully-digital instrument cluster, a new two-spoke steering wheel with an illuminated logo in the middle, as well as new touch HVAC controls – all of which will be carried over from the new Nexon.
As of now, Tata Motors offers the Nexon EV in two guises – Nexon EV Prime and Nexon EV Max, with the latter being the long-range version. It is yet to be seen if the manufacturer will continue with this formula, or club the two together in the form of separate variants. The pre-facelift Tata Nexon EV Max gets a 40.5 kWh battery pack providing a range of 453 km on a single charge. The electric motor puts out 141 hp of power and 250 Nm torque.

On the other hand, the Nexon EV Prime makes use of a smaller 30.2 kWh battery, offering an ARAI-certified range of 312 km. The more affordable Nexon EV Prime’s electric motor produces 127 hp power and 245 Nm torque. Pricing for the Tata Nexon EV starts from Rs 14.49 lakh, going all the way up to Rs 19.54 lakh (both prices, ex-showroom). The mid-life makeover would also bring along a price hike, with the 2023 Nexon EV facelift expected to be priced from about Rs 15 lakh.
