Tata Punch EV: Tata Punch EV exterior revealed: Gets front-mounted charging port, LED lightbar and more

Tata Motors has revealed the exterior and some interesting details about its upcoming electric car, the Tata Punch EV. The bookings for the electric SUV, which will be the first EV to be based on the company’s Gen-2 EV architecture, have commenced and it can be booked for a nominal token amount of Rs 21,000. The Punch EV will be available in four variants, namely, Smart, Adventure, Empowered, and Empowered+.
Speaking of the design changes that have been introduced, the Nexon facelift-inspired LED light bar is obviously the main highlight besides a similar bumper as well as grille design. Notable features include split LED headlights integrated into the front bumper, a new lower bumper featuring vertical strakes, and a silver faux skid plate. Interestingly, the Punch EV will also be the first electric car from the manufacturer that will feature a front-mounted charger – beneath the brand’s logo.
While the OEM has not revealed the powertrain specifications for the upcoming model, it is known that it will be available on two variants – Standard and Long Range. It is possible that the Punch.ev willdeliver a range somewhere between the 300-375 km mark.

Coming to the rear side, it gets a similar taillight design as its ICE counterpart featuring Y-shaped brake lights, a roof-mounted spoiler, and a distinctive bumper design. Other features include 16-inch diamond cut alloy wheels with disc brakes on all wheels.
In terms of safety, the SUV will be getting 6 airbags, ABS, ESC, ESP as standard, cruise control, and a 360 degree camera, which will be limited to the top-spec trim. Other features include a new 10.25-inch infotainment system, a digital instrument cluster of the same size, illuminated two-spoke steering wheel, an optional sunroof available from the empowered trim onwards. Furthermore, the jewel drive control knob will only be available in the long range variants.
