Tata Safari: Old Tata Harrier, Safari available with up to Rs 1 lakh discount: Details

Homegrown Automaker Tata Motors recently launched the new and updated Tata Safari facelift and Tata Harrier facelift in the Indian market. However, dealers still have old Harrier and Safarimodels in stock across the country and are being sold at discounted prices. As per our local dealer, they are offering discounts on the Pre-facelift models of up to Rs 1 lakh.

Customers can avail of cash discounts of up to Rs 60,000 exchange bonuses of up to Rs 30,000 and Rs 10,000 discounts on accessories (Please note that the discount price will vary from city to city and from different dealers). Pre-facelift versions of the Harrier and Safari are mechanically identical to the facelifted variants. Both SUVs are powered by a Fiat-sourced 2.0-litre Multi-jet turbo diesel engine.

The price for the new Safari and Harrier starts from Rs 16.19 lakh and 15.49 lakh respectively (both prices ex-showroom). Both models get a new design, improved dynamics, updated dashboard layout, additional features and much more. The new Tata Harrier is available in 10 variants, namely Smart (O), Pure (O), Adventure, Adventure+, Adventure+ Dark, Adventure+ A, Fearless, Fearless Dark, Fearless +, and Fearless + Dark. The new Safari is available in 10 trims, namely, Smart (O), Pure (O), Adventure, Adventure+, Adventure+ Dark, Accomplished, Accomplished Dark, Accomplished+ Dark, Adventure+ A, and Accomplished+.

The new Tata Harrier gets a completely re-designed front facia. It gets a re-designed front grille with vertically stacked split LED headlamps. It also gets sleek LED DRLs which run across the width of the bonnet. Below it gets a re-designed radiator grille with a skid plate. The new Safari gets a ‘parametric’ grille is a single-piece unit compared to the Harrier’s split setup. The Safari also gets a split headlamp setup with LED projector headlamps and LED projector fog lamps housed in a black casing.

Moving inside, the new Safari and Harrier features a free-standing 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system with a new UI and a 10.25-inch fully digital instrument cluster. Other features on offer include dual-zone climate control, ventilated first and second-row seats, a 10-speaker JBL-tuned sound system, rear window shades, a 360-degree camera, panoramic sunroof, rotary knob for the drive selector with a digital display and much more.

The new Tata Safari and Harrier also scored a 5-star rating in both adult and child occupant protection. Both SUVs has secured 33.05 out of 34 points for adult occupant protection and 45 points out of 49 in the child occupant protection tests.

As mentioned previously, the new Tata Safari and Harrier will continue to be powered by a Fiat-sourced 2.0-litre multi-jet turbocharged diesel engine which puts out 170 hp of power and 350 Nm of torque. Gearbox options will include a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic.
