One dedicated fan pointed to a potential hint in Taylor’s recent Spotify promotion for the album, which features lyrics written on a typewriter.
A seemingly corresponding video showing Matty discussing his fondness for typewriters further fuelled speculation. The lyric read, “As she was leaving, It felt like breathing.”
The 1975’s frontman Matty revealed his essentials in a GQ interview segment from December 2018, titled 10 Things The 1975’s Matty Healy Can’t Live Without.
“I really like typewriters as well. I don’t have one with me because that is really impractical,” he admitted during the GQ interview.
“And the thing is with typewriters and writing with pen to paper, there’s a kind of element of commitment that goes with the ceremony of it, therefore, it requires you to concentrate a bit better. So I think it’s important to have a book.”
While chuckling, the Chocolate hitmaker confessed, “It’s mainly like stories that I write about my dreams of being in love with other pop stars,” as he flipped through his notebook.
Speculation has been rife about whether Taylor might be among the pop stars mentioned in his writings, especially since Matt was rumoured to have had a brief romance with the superstar in 2023.
Adding fuel to the fire, Matty also expressed his willingness to date the singer back in November 2014, during an interview with Shazam Top 20.
Taylor and her former beau first crossed paths on November 19, 2014, when she attended a 1975 concert with pals Selena Gomez and Ellie Goulding.
The rumour mill started churning in May 2023 after Matt was spotted at Taylor’s Eras Tour in Nashville, Tennessee.
Speculation intensified when the pair were seen hand-in-hand at New York City’s Casa Cipriani, attending an Eras Tour concert with Taylor’s father in Philadelphia, her hometown, and later snapped leaving Electric Lady Studios in NYC.
However, Taylor has since gotten serious with Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce.
