Telangana Polls: ‘Promised To Give Schemes But Gave Scams’, PM Modi Slams KCR

Medak: Amid the final stages of massive campaigning in election-bound Telangana, Prime Minister Narendra Modi sharply attacked the state Chief Minister and Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) chief K Chandrashekar Rao on Sunday. Modi stated that KCR promised to give schemes but delivered only scams to the state. While addressing a gathering in Medak, he mentioned that CM KCR worked for his children and relatives rather than working for the children of the state.

Taking a jibe at the Telangana CM, the Prime Minister stated that farmers of the state have decided to permanently send him to his farmhouse.

“KCR promised to give schemes but he gave only scams. Instead of working for your children, he worked for his children and his relatives. He did scams worth crores of rupees and increased his wealth…The farmers of Telangana have decided to permanently send him to his farmhouse..,” ANI quoted PM Modi as saying.

PM Modi also slammed the Congress party by reminding the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks. He asserted that 26/11 also reminds the people of how much damage incompetent and weak governments can do to the country.

” Today on 26/11, the country became the victim of a major terrorist attack. We lost many innocent countrymen in this attack. This day of 26/11 also reminds us of how much damage incompetent and weak governments can do to the country. In 2014, you removed the weak Congress government and formed a strong BJP government, due to which terrorism is being wiped from the country today..,” he said.

The Prime Minister showed his confidence in the people of the state by stating that BJP will form government in Telangana.

“This time Telangana is moving forward with only one resolution that for the first time, BJP government will be formed here… Lotus will bloom in Telangana..,” PM Modi said.

Earlier in the day, Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) party leader K Kavitha launched a pointed critique against Congress and its Rahul Gandhi, stating that Gandhi and his party has not undertaken any significant initiatives for Telangana.

Continuing her attack, the BRS leader stated that neither the former Prime Minister Late Indira Gandhi took any major decision for Telangana nor the current leaders of the party did anything. “Telangana has given so much to Congress but they haven’t done anything for the state,” K Kavitha added.

All the big political faces are holding massive rallies and roadshows in Telangana to woo voters ahead of the assembly elections which are scheduled to take place on November 30. The results will be declared on December 3.

Telangana Assembly Elections 2023: Current Government

Currently, the state is governed by the ruling Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), led by Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao. In its relatively short electoral history, the country’s youngest state is heading for its third Assembly election, with the BRS aiming for a perfect hat-trick to retain power. The Congress, the main opposition party in the state, still dreams of governing Telangana, whose formation it facilitated in 2014.
