Tonight, the 2024 Grammy Awards are underway at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles. Music’s biggest night saw an impressive roster of A-list talent show up for the affair, with Taylor Swift, Lana Del Rey, Dua Lipa, and more all gracing the red carpet. The best dressed stars of the evening kept the Grammys tradition of bold fashion alive. Looks included modern couture and vintage pieces, with references to the Roaring ‘20s, nineties, and early aughts.
Old Hollywood glamour was among prevailing themes on the red carpet. Taylor Swift—one of the night’s buzziest attendees—went refined in a white strapless Schiaparelli gown, complete with black opera gloves. Olivia Rodrigo also chose a white gown—’90s-era crystal-embellished Versace. Janelle Monae, meanwhile, embraced glitz in a custom creation by Armani Privé covered in shimmered sequins. And Dua Lipa, in Courrèges, gave us a high-fashion disco ball moment.
The evening included risk-taking and avant-garde looks as well. Miley Cyrus paid homage to her godmother Dolly Parton with a sky-high bouffant; her armor-like, chainmail Margiela gown was just as good. Best New Artist nominee Ice Spice, meanwhile, continued her Y2K style streak in head to toe Baby Phat; She called the fur-trimmed denim top and skirt a look fit for a “Bronx Baddie.”
As for some of the standout men of the evening? Jon Batiste’s pleated skirt-over-pants by Versace turned heads in the right way, as did Lenny Kravitz’z sheer Rick Owens getup, and John Legend’s pussybow Saint Laurent blouse. No boring suits here!
