The project is estimated to cost around Rs. 2 lakh crore. The passengers can board the train from 6 am to midnight at 30-minute intervals. The train is expected to run at a speed of 320 km/h. It will have three classes – Standard Class, Business Class, and Grand Class. The Ministry of Railways shared a picture of the ongoing progress of the bullet train on Twitter. The land acquisition for the project has faced some challenges, particularly in Maharashtra. The line’s Operational Control Centre will be located at Sabarmati. Trains will be operated with two types of services – High Speed, with a 2.58-hour journey, and Rapid High Speed, with a 2.07-hour journey. The project is expected to consume a significant amount of cement and steel, benefiting the cement and steel industries.
