This is how Apple CEO Tim Cook remembered Steve Jobs on his 12th death anniversary

Today, October 5, marks the 12th death anniversary of Apple co-founder Steve Jobs. Continuing the tradition, Apple CEO Tim Cook has paid tribute to Jobs. Cook took to social media platform X (formerly Twitter), writing, “Thinking back on a pioneer who challenged conventions, a visionary who changed the world, a mentor, and a friend. We miss you, Steve.”

Steve Jobs passed away in 2011 after battling pancreatic cancer for several years. He was diagnosed with the disease when he was 49 years old in 2005. Despite undergoing treatment, Jobs continued to work until his last day as Apple CEO on August 24, 2011.
Steve Jobs is credited with turning around Apple’s fortunes during his second stint as CEO in the late 90s.
During his absence, Cook served as interim CEO until he officially assumed the position after Jobs’ passing.
Steve Jobs on naming Tim Cook CEO
When Steve Jobs resigned as CEO of Apple, he told the company’s board, “I have always said if there ever came a day when I could no longer meet my duties and expectations as Apple’s CEO, I would be the first to let you know. Unfortunately, that day has come.”
Jobs named Cook as his successor, who took on the role of CEO in 2011. “As far as my successor goes, I strongly recommend that we execute our succession plan and name Tim Cook as CEO of Apple. I believe Apple’s brightest and most innovative days are ahead of it. And I look forward to watching and contributing to its success in a new role,” Jobs wrote further.
Apple’s website has a “Remembering Steve” page where friends, colleagues, and customers from around the world have shared their condolences. On Jobs’ 10th death anniversary, Apple released a short film, “Celebrating Steve,” to celebrate his life and vision.
