Three FC Barcelona Players Are ‘Untouchable’, All Others Can Be Sold

Only three FC Barcelona players are considered ‘untouchable’ and ‘structural’ at the club, with all others possibly sold if the right offer comes in for them according to SPORT.

The Catalans continue to wade through an economic crisis that has engulfed them since the turn of the decade and the pandemic.

Having to think how Financial Fair Play limits can be navigated is a constant backstage at the Montjuic Stadium, whenever a new player will be bought or an existing star has agreed a new contract.

Even with Barca doomed to only picking up signings on free transfers or for cut fees, Xavi Hernandez will want to boost his squad for the 2024/2025 season in the summer if he is still in the hotseat.

In order to deliver reinforcements, it is a well-known fact that Barca will have to make big sales with only three stars in the first team squad off limits.

Namely they are Pedri, Gavi and Ronaldo Araujo – who has reportedly piqued the interest of Bayern Munich.

According to Mundo Deportivo, the Bavarians are willing to pay more than $77 million now and surpass $100 million if it is necessary to land the Uruguayan.

The same paper says that Araujo will decide his future at the end of the season, and he worried many Culers on Wednesday when asked to address the rumors about a potential switch to the Bundesliga.

“In every transfer window there are rumors of all kinds. It’s normal. The only thing I can say is that I’m focused on the team and also on this club. I’m comfortable here and I always try to give everything for this shirt,” Araujo stated.

“I insist that all of these are rumors that come when these dates [the transfer windows] arrive.

“The only thing I try is to help my teammates and the club. I always give my best for Barca and that’s what I focus on,” Araujo then added, when probed on whether talks had been held with Bayern.

Though an offer north of $100 million could tempt Barca in their cash-strapped predicament, SPORT insists he is one of three players not for sale.

While this might be true, it means that other players with a potential market including Frenkie de Jong, Raphinha, Andreas Christensen, Jules Kounde and Ferran Torres could all be offloaded if the money tabled for them sounds right.
