Toshiba laptop AC Adapter recalled after multiple dangerous incidents

The Toshiba laptop AC Adapter has been recalled over safety concerns.

The adapters were supplied with Toshiba laptops when purchased or as replacements during repairs.

The material inside the adapter’s DC-IN plug can degrade over time, which may cause the plug to overheat and catch fire.

There is a risk of a serious burn injury, death or property damage if the adapter overheats and catches fire.

Multiple incidents have occurred globally, resulting in burn injuries and damage to property.

The product was supplied by Dynabook ANZ Pty Ltd, formerly the PC division of Toshiba Australia Pty Ltd.

It has been available for sale at a number of major retailers, including JB Hi-Fi, The Good Guys and Officeworks.

Consumers should stop using Toshiba adapters immediately. Consumers should turn off power to their adapter at the wall socket and unplug it.

Consumers should also visit the Dynabook recall website to check if their adapter is recalled.

Customers with recalled adapters can use the website to register to return the adapter for a free replacement.
