Travis Scott vows to pay for five HBCU students’ tuition for a semester

What started as the Astroworld artist jokingly mentioning he was building up a stash of cellphones because he kept losing his, turned into paying for a fan’s new set of Airpods, replacing an Astroworld hoodie and funding a Playstation 5.

Soon thereafter, Scott was telling fans he wanted to pay for a few students’ upcoming tuition.

In a tweet, he wrote, “AND I KNOW SCHOOL JUST STARTED AND I WANNA TAKE CARE OF 5 KIDS TUITION FOR THERE FIRST SEMESTER OF SCHOOL !!! WHY NOT!!!!!”

He followed up his original tweet by clarifying that he wanted to pay tuition for five students that attend historically Black colleges and universities (HBCUs). He even dove into some of his family history, and shared that his father went to Prairie View A&M right here in Texas, while his mother attended Grambling University in Louisiana.

So far, via Twitter, LaFlame has chosen two HBCU students whose tuition he’s pledged to fund: A student a Morehouse College and a student at Howard University.

We have yet to see Scott tweet about the other three students he’ll be picking up the tab for. One can only imagine how flooded his DMs are at this very moment.
