Twitter-like Direct Message Feature potentially added to Threads

Threads, a social media app owned by Meta, is reportedly working on introducing a direct messaging (DMs) feature similar to Twitter. This feature will allow users to send private messages to each other. Instagram head Adam Mosseri recently announced that rate limits would be implemented on Threads as a measure against spam attacks. Elon Musk, in response to the new feature, called it a copycat and expressed his disagreement. He also mentioned that the implementation of rate limits seemed oppressive. In a recent announcement, Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Meta, stated that “10s of millions of people now come back daily” to Threads, surpassing their expectations. Meta’s focus for the rest of the year is to improve the basics and user retention. Musk has been praising and improving Twitter while criticizing Threads and Zuckerberg. In the past, he has made negative remarks about Zuckerberg’s understanding of artificial intelligence (AI) and has mocked him on social media.
