Uber Faces Challenges in Goa After Expanding Services to Include Airport Pickup and Drop

The Goa government has lodged a complaint against Uber India Systems Private Limited for illegally operating its services in the coastal state. Uber recently launched its services in Goa, offering airport pick-up and drop-off. The State Transport Minister, Mauvin Godinho, stated that his department has filed a formal complaint against Uber for operating in the tourist state without permission. The government had previously announced that app-based taxi aggregators like Ola and Uber would not be allowed to operate in Goa. The complaint has been filed with the cyber crime cell, accusing Uber of offering rides in the state without obtaining permission from the local government.
