Unbelievable $336 Receipt Glitch Leaves Woolworths Shopper Stunned

A Woolworths customer has been left speechless after discovering an unbelievable $336 charge on a recent receipt.

Sharing on TikTok, the shopper said she was stunned to discover that she’d accidentally paid hundreds for one of the supermarket’s hot roast chickens.

In a series of videos, the shopper showed footage of her receipt which proved that the popular .dinner buy – which usually retails for $12 – had been mis-scanned at $336.66.

“Woolworths charged me $336 for a roast chicken,” said the shopper, who uses the TikTok handle @kirby.cooper.

“Three hundred and 36 dollars for roast chicken. Chicken.

“I know it’s RSPCA, but?

“Did they put it up at the f***ing Crown Towers before they killed them.”

In the caption on the video, the customer noted that the “GST alone was $33” and that “inflation is getting ridiculous”.

In a later video, the shopper returned the “Nobu priced chicken” to her local Woolies store and received a refund – and the chicken for free.

“The guys at Woolies were absolute champs, we all had a laugh and I walked away with a free bird,” she said.

“Thanks Woolworths, I can still afford to shop with you!”

In a later video, the customer answered criticism from TikTok users who were confused as to how she didn’t notice an extra $336 charge on her grocery bill.

“How didn’t you notice it at the checkout?” one asked.

Another said: “ I notice even $5, let alone $336!”

The TikTok user claimed that she and her husband often only buy a small number of items during each supermarket trip, but on this occasion she did a “big shop” and lost track of how much she’d spent.

“I’m just trying to paint the picture as to why there was a $300 roast chicken on my counter last night,” she said.

“So there I am in Woolworths – hungry, hormonal craving sugar, with no game plan, free balling it.

“The best way to describe my brain at that point, is a child with a credit card.

“I’m not proud of it. No but that’s just how it was.”
