Upcoming popular cars in India

Here are some highly anticipated upcoming cars that have already garnered significant popularity in the country.
Mahindra XUV 3XO
The Mahindra XUV 3XO, the much-anticipated update to the popular XUV300, is set to debut on April 29, 2024. The manufacturer has been drip-teasing its updates through teasers lately. Based on the teasers shared so far, the compact SUV will get a revamped design featuring fresh bumpers, new grille, connected LED tail lamps, and dual-pane sunroof, which the company says will be the largest in its segment.
Besides that, the interiors will undergo a revamp, getting features such as twin 10.25-inch panels for the infotainment system and the digital driver’s console, as well as front ventilated seats and a 360-degree camera. In terms of engine options, it will likely retain the existing units – 1.2-litre NA petrol, 1.2-litre turbo-petrol, and a 1.5-litre diesel motor.
Next-Gen Maruti Suzuki Swift

While the cabin is expected to offer enhanced technology akin to the Baleno and Fronx, safety features include six airbags, ABS with EBD, and electronic stability control. However, certain advanced driver assistance features may not be available in the Indian model. The global Swift houses a 1.2-litre petrol engine with options for a mild-hybrid variant, promising impressive fuel efficiency. Whether the India-spec Swift will include hybrid technology remains uncertain.
Force Gurkha 5-Door
Exciting developments are underway in India’s off-road SUV segment that has recently seen the arrival of the most affordable model, the Maruti Suzuki Jimny. Force Motors is gearing up for the launch of its 5-door Gurkha model. Retaining its iconic boxy silhouette and circular LED headlamps, the new Gurkha may feature slight tweaks to bumper designs and will get an extended wheelbase for additional doors. Interior upgrades are anticipated for enhanced comfort, though specifics remain unconfirmed. The debut of the Gurkha 5-door will heighten competition, particularly with the awaited 5-door variant of the Mahindra Thar set to join the fray soon.
Maruti Suzuki Dzire
Following the footsteps of the Swift, Maruti Suzuki is also gearing up to launch the new Dzire sedan sometime. The model has already been spied testing in India and like the case has been with its predecessor, the new Dzire will share its design cues from the hatch it is based on, the Swift. Sharing many of the expected upgrades from the Swift, like the new infotainment system, the Dzire is likely to offer a more spacious and feature-rich cabin.
