Usher Super Bowl halftime show divides fans after surprise appearance of Alicia Keys

Global superstar Usher set the stage ablaze during an unforgettable halftime show at the prestigious Super Bowl event, reminding fans of his catchy hits and energetic performances.

As the anticipation reached fever pitch, Usher emerged onto the colossal stage at Las Vegas’ Allegiant Stadium with fans cheering wildly, including fellow superstar Taylor Swift who watched from her box.

The show came as the San Francisco 49ers took a 10-3 lead over the Kansas City Chiefs.

The stage looked completely different in 2024 from previous years, featuring three circles and Usher making use of the grass around it at the beginning.

With his inimitable charisma and boundless energy, Usher kicked off his set with a series of his chart-topping hits, effortlessly captivating the audience from the very first note.

Starting with his hit Caught Up, he began on the grass in front of the stage before transitioning into Love in this Club.

In a surprise twist, he welcomed a special guest to the stage, none other than fellow music icon Alicia Keys, who sang her hit, If I Ain’t Got You.

The songstress stunned in a floating red cape as she sang at the piano.

The crowd erupted into a deafening roar as the two powerhouse performers joined forces, delivering a moving duet of My Boo that left everyone breathless.

The superstar left no stone unturned, moving onto Confessions and later Burn as the crowd bopped along with flashlights.

Stripping off his shirt, Usher moved onto You’ve Got It Bad as the crowd went wild.

Changing into roller skates, Usher performed OMG alongside guests Lil Jon and Ludacris.

The synergy between Usher and his dancers was palpable, creating a visual spectacle that elevated the performance to new heights.

But Usher’s showmanship didn’t stop there.

The energy continued to surge as Usher closed out his show with an explosive finale, performing Yeah!

Fans react

Reactions poured in praising the headliner, with one fan writing, “Usher on rollerblades with TURN DOWN FOR WHAT BLARING IN THE BACKGROUND? this is CINEMA”.

“What a throwback!!” a fan said.

“Alicia Keys killed it!!” another said.

Meanwhile, others were not so thrilled, particularly pointing out the suspected lipsyncing.
