Victim criticises Darshan Jariwala’s assertion on fatherhood: ‘Medically unfit for becoming a father doesn’t mean a person is incapable of raping’ |

In December 2023, a journalist based in Kolkata accused Jariwala of rape and impregnating her under the false promise of marriage. An FIR has been lodged against the actor at a Kolkata police station, charging him under Sections 376 (rape), 377 (carnal intercourse), and 417 (cheating) of the Indian Penal Code.
After resigning at CINTAA, Jariwala has vehemently denied all allegations and has even threatened to file a defamation suit against the Kolkata-based media professional. Jariwala’s lawyer, Saveena Bedi Sachar, dismissed the pregnancy accusation, stating that her client is medically unfit to become a father.

Sachar told Times Now Digital/Telly Talk that Darshan has a medical condition preventing him from fathering children. She mentioned that his partner is also struggling to conceive, despite their efforts, due to the same medical issue.

In an interview with Beyond Bollywood, the victim rejected it as a weak justification. “Being medically unfit to become a father doesn’t absolve someone of the capability to commit rape or engage in sexual intercourse,” stated the journalist.

She further asserted that Jariwala’s assertions were false and maintained that she had evidence to back her claim. According to her, she possessed Jariwala’s pelvic USG report from February 2023, along with his entire medical file. She alleged that Jariwala used to seek her advice for his medical conditions and homeopathic remedies.
Jariwala’s lawyer has cast doubts on the credibility of the report. However, the journalist countered by questioning how Jariwala’s current partner was able to conceive if he is indeed medically unfit.

The victim stated that she had knowledge of Darshan and his current partner, Anahita Jahanbaksh Italia, attempting to conceive. According to her, Darshan had mentioned that Anahita insisted on having his child as part of their separation agreement. She claimed that Anahita underwent IVF treatment around June 2022, resulting in a pregnancy that ended in miscarriage. Additionally, she mentioned previous attempts, noting that Anahita had to terminate pregnancies twice due to her own medical condition.
She further mentioned that Darshan has a biological daughter named Khushali Jariwala with his now-separated wife, Apara Mehta. Interestingly, Khushali is three months older than the victim.
The aggrieved woman also informed that thus far she hasn’t received any defamation notice from Jariwala.
