Watch: Bangladesh take ‘one of the worst’ DRS call against Sri Lanka in the 2nd Test | Cricket News

NEW DELHI: A shocking Decision Review System (DRS) call has left cricket fans astounded during the second Test between Bangladesh and Sri Lanka at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium, Chattogram on Saturday.
During the 44th over, Taijul Islam bowled to Sri Lankan batsman Kusal Mendis, who defended the ball with ease. However, Bangladesh’s Najmul Hossain Shanto, standing at the other end, thought he saw something different and opted for a review, believing there was a chance of an LBW (leg before wicket) dismissal.
To everyone’s disbelief, the replays clearly showed that the ball had struck the middle of Mendis’s bat, making it one of the worst DRS calls ever made.

Earlier, Sri Lanka’s captain Dhananjaya de Silva won the toss and elected to bat first, seeking to clinch the series with a decisive victory. The Sri Lankan team made a solitary change from their previous lineup, with Asitha Fernando stepping in for the injured Kasun Rajitha, who played a pivotal role in Sri Lanka’s comprehensive victory in the first Test, claiming eight wickets.
Kusal Mendis, though missed on a century, played a stellar innings, scoring 93 off 150 balls. His contribution, coupled with the team’s strong start, bolstered Sri Lanka’s position in the match.
