England had a rollicking start against Bangladesh after coming to chase a revised target of 197 in 37 overs on Monday (October 2) in a rain-marred World Cup warm-up match at Barsapara Cricket Stadium, Guwahati. Jonny Bairstow was the architect of it, taking England to 51 runs in just four overs to make the job easy for others.

However, Bangladesh struck back after that, and Mustafizur Rahman stepped up to give his side a much-required breakthrough. The left-arm quick, coming to bowl the fifth over of the innings, bowled a deadly yorker towards the leg stump. Bairstow had no clue how to tackle it before the ball went on the crash the stump.

Interestingly, though Bairstow, batting on 34 off 21 deliveries, knew he was gone as soon as the ball hit the wicket, Mustafizur was disappointed, assuming the ball might have passed the stumps without any touch. Soon after, he realised that he was wrong, and a huge smile came on his face later on.

At the time of writing, England are 66/2 in seven overs, with Joe Root and Harry Brook in middle, on 2* and 13* respectively. The defending champions still require 131 more runs to get the job done before moving on to the main event, which will get underway on October 5 in Ahmedabad.
