What Car’s Design Has Aged The Worst?

Has this design aged like a fine wine or three-day-old smoothie?

Just this week, it was announced that a road-going version of the stunning Jaguar CX-75 had finally been created almost 14 years after the car was first unveiled. As a result, I found myself thinking that the Jag could have been unveiled today, and its design would still look breathtaking. Some cars just don’t age, it turns out. Then, there are the others.

Those others are the kinds of cars that we’re on the lookout for today. The cars that don’t age like fine wine and instead fester like a grape that’s fallen down the gap in your couch. Gross.

So, what car’s design do you think has aged the worst in recent years? We’d love to know.

Maybe you feel like the look of the new Defender wasn’t quite revolutionary enough, leaving it appearing older than its rivals from Ford and Jeep despite still being quite the spring chicken. Or, perhaps you’re more inclined to vote for the latest generation Mustang; is it really the muscle car we need in 2024?

Personally, my pick for the most dated design on sale today would easily go to the Ford F-150 Lightning. Ford’s flagship EV already looks older than its gas-powered counterpart, and its stylings aren’t quite stacking up alongside other EVs winning favor across America.

Sure, it’s meant to look like an F-150 so that it’s familiar to F-150 buyers, but it could at least have a bit of flash or flair about it.

But that’s just my suggestion, but what have you got? Head to the comments section below and let us know your picks for the car designs that have aged the worst. We’ll round up some of the top offenders in a slideshow next week.
