What Do You Want To Know?

Is this your new ride to work?

I’m getting back on my bike and heading out into the big wide world this week, but this time it’s not technically mine and is instead the latest and greatest from Spanish bike builder Orbea. Called the Diem, it’s a new city-focused e-bike from the brand that built a name for itself making super aerodynamic road racers and long-travel mountain bikes. So, what do you want to know about it?

The bike looks slick, it’s built around an aluminum frame that has echoes of the brand’s mountain bikes. Built into the frame is a 630Wh battery that powers the Diem 10 and 20, or a 540Wh battery that you’ll find in the Diem 30. These power packs are paired up with a mid-drive motor that the company has sourced from Shimano, which can keep you on the move for up to 90 miles.

Rather than a traditional chain and derailleur that you’ll find on almost every other Orbea bike, the Diem comes with a carbon belt drive setup, which should be easier to maintain than an old-school chain. There’s also a built-in kickstand and other creature comforts you might want on your ride to work.

Space for all my hopes and dreams.

The Diem e-bike comes with a few neat tricks up its sleeves, which I’m excited to check out. There are lights built into the bars or into an optional front rack that lets you carry around all your hopes and dreams. There’s also reportedly a secret compartment perfect for storing an AirTag, which I’m eager to see in action.

The bike starts from $3,899, so what questions do you have about it? It’s a step out of its comfort zone for Orbea, and I’m eager to see how it rides on the streets of Germany. So shoot your questions into the comments section below and I’ll do my best to answer as many as I can when I get my hands on the bike.
