WhatsApp Expanding Channels Availability to Additional Countries

WhatsApp Channels, a feature introduced by Meta-owned messaging platform WhatsApp, is now being rolled out to Egypt, Chile, Malaysia, Morocco, Ukraine, Kenya, and Peru. Users can find, share, and follow channels that interest them. Channels serve as a one-way broadcast tool for admins to send text, photos, videos, stickers, and polls. WhatsApp had previously revealed that they were working on a message reaction feature for channels, which will include a new section called “Channel settings” where admins can manage certain options and control the reactions users can send to the channel. The platform also recently added two new privacy features for users: Silence Unknown Callers, which automatically screens out spam and calls from unknown people, and Privacy Checkup, which helps users understand the privacy options available on WhatsApp.
