WhatsApp Implements Material Design 3, Incorporating Interface Enhancements Across Platforms

WhatsApp, the messaging platform owned by Meta, is introducing interface improvements that align with Material Design 3. These enhancements are currently rolling out on the Android beta version of the app. Users will now have rounded menus, a bottom navigation bar, and a new floating action button. Additionally, the interface has been updated with rounded alerts and redesigned toggles. The chats tab and floating action button have also been redesigned to resemble an incoming message bubble. These updates follow the Material Design 3 guidelines and allow users to experience the latest interface improvements. Previous reports have mentioned that WhatsApp is working on an animated avatar feature for Android beta, which will add more life and personality to stickers. The platform has also introduced a feature on Android beta that enables users to send high-quality videos, albeit with some minor compression. By default, videos will be sent in standard quality, and users will have to manually select the high-quality option each time they want to send a video with better quality. A tag will be added to the message bubble when sending a video with the high-quality option to inform the recipient.
