After 11 years of marriage, Esha Deol and her husband Bharat Takhtani have announced their amicable separation. The couple, who tied the knot in 2012 after years of dating, are parents to two daughters, Radhya and Miraya.
In an old interview, Esha had shared that Bharat, accustomed to a joint family upbringing, was greatly cherished by his relatives throughout his life.
The actress in an interview with Filmfare described Bharat as ‘outgoing, yet traditional’ and despite being the protected child of her own family, after being with Bharat, she stopped feeling like a lost soul.
The young Deol also highlighted that with Bharat, she felt like he’s someone who can be hers , will always remain loyal and there’s more purpose to life now (when she married him). She added that he’s just like her dad Dharmendra who knows how to keep his family together. .
She also clarified that he’s very much ok with her celebrity status and doesn’t see her as Esha Deol the actress but Esha, his friend. Bharat who was also part of the interview, added that he didn’t get married to Esha because of her brand name.
In a statement announcing their separation, Esha and Bharat said, “We have mutually and amicably decided to part ways. Through this shift in our lives, the best interests and welfare of our two children is and will be of utmost importance to us. We’d appreciate our privacy is respected.”
