Why Jarell Quansah has been dreaming about the Carabao Cup final

Quansah is aware how chances to lift silverware can be few and far between in a player’s career.

Therefore, he’s determined to do everything possible so that he has a winner’s medal in his possession come this evening.

“There’s not loads of opportunities you get to win trophies,” he said. “Say an average career is 15 years, that’s 15 chances to win the Carabao Cup and it’s not many.

“Any opportunity you get, you’ve got to take it with both hands, and that’s exactly what we’re going to try to do.”

The No.78 continued: “In this group, you can feel there’s a lot of hunger. We want to win trophies. Just getting to the final won’t be enough for us. We really do want to win it and there’s a lot of belief there that we can.

“We know it’s going to be a tough game and everything like that, but there’s a lot of strong personalities here.

“For me to win a final in my first season, that [would] be great. A lot of players have come [in] this year and for them to win it in their first season will be unbelievable as well.

“There’s a lot of personal motivation and a lot of team motivation as well.”
