Windows 10: Microsoft Windows 10 users can now test this Windows 11-exclusive AI feature

Last week, Microsoft introduced Copilot in Windows (in preview) for Windows 10 version 22H2 and now it is available for users to test. Those using Windows 10 can now try out a preview of Copilot that was previously only available on Windows 11.
Copilot in Windows 10 is said to be similar to how it appears in Windows 11. There is a button on the right-hand side of the taskbar that allows users access the AI-powered chatbot.However, there are some differences in features such as in some skills or actions available in Windows 11 which don’t exist in Windows 10.
Phased release
The Copilot in Windows 10 preview will have a phased global release in multiple markets including North America, parts of Asia and South America. It will be available running Home and unmanaged Pro editions of Windows 10, version 22H2 soon.
Windows 10 users who are interested in exploring Copilot in version 22H2 can get access through the Release Preview Channel in the Windows Insider Program for Business.
How to use Copilot in Windows 10

  • To start using Copilot, users can click on the Copilot icon located on the taskbar.
  • It will open a chat window, enabling users to input queries or requests.
  • Copilot responds by providing pertinent information or suggestions.
  • Users will also have the option to interact with Copilot using voice commands by clicking on the microphone icon within the chat window.

Microsoft 10 support
Microsoft said last week that it was “revisiting” its approach to Windows 10 and making “additional investments” in the older Windows version. Microsoft said it will be bringing more AI features to Windows 10 in the future but there wonlt be any major changes.
The company will be end support for Windows 10 in less than two years.
“We’re not making any changes to the end of support for Windows 10, which remains at October 14th, 2025,” said Aaron Woodman, vice president of Windows marketing. Windows 10 is a popular operating system with reportedly 1 billion users. In comparison, Windows 11 is being used by about 400 million users.
