Would-be intruder detained at Drake’s Toronto mansion 1 day after shooting

Joseph Wilkinson | New York Daily News

A man tried to break into Drake’s Toronto mansion on Wednesday, a day after one of the rapper’s security guards was shot and wounded outside the home.

The failed intruder was detained by security personnel at the scene and eventually held by Toronto police under Canada’s Mental Health Act, according to The Canadian Press.

Sources told Global News that the man arrived at the gates and said he was “here to see Drake.” Security apparently didn’t buy it.

It’s unclear whether Drake was at the home in Toronto’s ritzy Bridle Path neighborhood during Wednesday’s incident, or if he was home early Tuesday morning for the shooting.

Cops responded to the residence around 2 a.m. Tuesday following reports of gunfire at the property. Investigators have described the shooting as a drive-by and said one security guard was wounded.

The guard was hospitalized in serious condition, but authorities said his injuries were not life-threatening.
