With still over two months to go before the release of ‘The Archies‘, director Zoya Akhtar ignited excitement among fans by revealing a series of character posters of her cast. Taking to her Instagram handle, Zoya shared the vintage posters of the leading stars – Suhana Khan, Agastya Nanda, and Khushi Kapoor, portraying the roles of Veronica Lodge, Archie Andrews, and Betty Cooper respectively.

In an interview, Zoya said that the viewers should know that it is a live-action. It’s coming onto the screen of a comic book. She further added that it’s adapted to some kind of reality here, however, it’s over the top a little bit. And it is a comic – a comic come to life.

The posters see the star cast embracing their characters’ essence, giving us a tease of all the drama set to unfold this December.

In the Netflix film, Suhana takes on the role of Veronica, a character she described as having an undeniably magnetic personality. She further shared that she is learning from her character’s unapologetic self-assuredness.
The actress, who makes her acting debut with the film, also expressed her initial nervousness and the weight of responsibility she felt, emphasizing Akhtar’s role in making her feel comfortable and turning Riverdale into their home.

Agastya Nanda, who portrays Archie, highlighted his character’s love for music and clarified that, unlike Archie, he doesn’t consider himself a “casanova.”
Dot, playing Ethel Muggs, shared that while there are parallels between her character and herself, there are differences between the two. She further emphasized that she embraces her quirky side, unlike her character.
“The Archies,” directed by Zoya, is a live-action musical movie inspired by the beloved American comic series of the same name. Set in the 1960s, the film delves into themes of friendship, freedom, love, heartbreak, and rebellion, offering audiences a captivating journey through the lives of Archie, Betty, Veronica, Jughead, Reggie, Ethel, and Dilton in the fictional town of Riverdale.
The cast also includes Mihir Ahuja, Dot, Yuvraj Menda, and Vedang Raina. The film is set to begin streaming on December 7.
