The highest number of viewers was recorded during the first innings, when India was batting and Virat Kohli was on strike, nearing his 49th century.

IT minister Ashwini Vaishnaw also posted on the social media platform X, congratulating Virat Kohli on his 49th century and noting that the match saw 4.4 live viewers, noting that India enjoys the lowest data costs.

Disney+Hotstar has now broken its viewership record twice in the World Cup. The streaming platform clocked in 4.3 crore concurrent viewers during the livestream of the India vs New Zealand World Cup match on October 22, surpassing the previous record of 3.5 crore concurrent viewers set during the World Cup match between India and Pakistan on October 14.
During the Asia Cup tournament, Disney+Hotstar registered 2.8 crore viewers during the India vs Pakistan match.
