Kokilaben Ambani recently celebrated her 90th birthday on February 24, 2024, however, she seems to be quite fit and active for her age.So much so that more recently at her grandson Anant Ambani and his fiance Radhika Merchant’s pre-wedding celebrations, Kokilaben also did a little dance which captured people’s hearts!

1. Born in Jamnagar in pre-Independent India
Kokilaben Ambani was born on February 24, 1934, in Jamnagar, Gujarat. At that time, India was still ruled by the Britishers. It is a wonder then, that Kokilaben has seen so much change in India in the last 90 years– from pre-Independence to post!
Jamnagar is Kokilaben Ambani’s birthplace and the place where her late husband Dhirubhai Ambani and their son Mukesh Ambani set up their Reliance Indsutries’ refineries– this makes Jamnagar hold a special place in the Ambanis’ hearts. No wonder then that the Ambanis’ had chosen Jamnagar for the lavish three-day pre-wedding festivities for Anant and Radhika!
2. The inspiring Ambani matriach
Kokilaben Ambani was born in pre-Independent India at a time when women weren’t encouraged to be much educated. And so, Kokilaben has studied till class 10th, as per reports. However, this did not stop her from being the Ambani matriarch that she is today. In fact, as per reports, her late husband Dhirubhai Ambani had hired an English teacher for her so that she could learn the language and converse with others. Isn’t that inspiring?
3. Her love for luxury cars
Kokilaben Ambani lives with her elder son Mukesh Ambani and his family in Antilia, Mumbai. And the Ambani matriarch is said to have her own collection of luxury cars, as she is quite fond of them. As per reports, Mercedes-Benz is her favourite car; while her late husband’s favourite car was a Cadillac limousine.
4. She is a strict vegetarian
Like most staunch Hindus and Gujaratis, Kokilaben Ambani is said to be a strict vegetarian. Some of her favourite dishes include: dal, roti, and dhokli.

Kokilaben Ambani is also said to be a great devotee of Shrinath ji. So much so that she often visits Dwarkadhish Temple in Jamnagar, and Nathdwara in Rajasthan, among other religious places.
