Microsoft gaming chief will reveal more about Xbox’s “vision for the future” next week

Microsoft is planning to bring its upcoming slate of Xbox exclusives to PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch consoles, and if rumours are to be believed the multi-platform release could begin with the upcoming HiFi Rush and Indiana Jones title. Now, after a week of chit-chat, Microsoft Gaming CEO, Phil Spencer has broken his silence, saying that they are “listening and we hear you,” and the company is gearing up for a business update next week, where it will share details about their “vision for the future of Xbox.”
“We’re listening and we hear you,” wrote Phil Spencer, the CEO of Microsoft Gaming, in a post on X (formerly Twitter).“We’ve been planning a business update event for next week, where we look forward to sharing more details with you about our vision for the future of Xbox. Stay tuned.”
According to a report by The Verge, Microsoft had initially planned to release a business update later this month, in conjunction with an announcement about the launch of Hi-Fi Rush for both PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch. However, with the increasing speculation over the possible release of Starfield and other Xbox games on the PS5, Microsoft has responded by announcing a “business update event” for next week, where it will likely reveal the company’s gaming strategy going forward.
The Verge was told that there is an ongoing debate within Microsoft on which Xbox games should be made available on third-party consoles.
There are rumours that MachineGames might release Indiana Jones and the Great Circle on PlayStation 5 after the game’s launch on PC and Xbox. The Verge reported on this, and XboxEra made similar claims about a PlayStation 5 port of Starfield, which will be released after the Shattered Space DLC. Rumours suggest that HiFi Rush will be released on PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch in the coming weeks, but there may be delays in the release of Indiana Jones.
