Ram Gopal Varma, known for iconic movies such as Company, Satya, and Rangeela, highlighted a concerning trend in the film industry. He expressed his observation that in big-budget films requiring extensive visual effects, the selection of VFX artists is often based solely on their remuneration. Filmmakers, lacking insight into VFX processes, tend to assume that higher-priced companies will deliver superior results.
RGV disclosed that a renowned director confided in him about a dilemma faced while selecting a VFX company for a specific sequence in their film.Despite being unsure about the technicalities of the VFX process, the director opted for the more expensive Rs 35 crore company assuming higher cost equated to better quality.

RGV illustrated the contrast between two films, Adipurush and Hanuman, to emphasize his point. Despite Adipurush’s extravagant budget and use of a foreign VFX company, its VFX quality was criticized. Conversely, Hanuman, with a modest budget and local production, received praise for achieving impressive results.

RGV expressed skepticism about the reported budget of Hanuman, suggesting it might have been even lower than stated. Despite Prashanth Varma‘s claim of making the film for Rs 40 crore, RGV suspects it was made for much less. He emphasized that, regardless, Hanuman’s cost was significantly lower than Adipurush’s, yet it delivered superior results.

Hanuman grossed Rs 295 crore globally with a budget of Rs 40 crore, whereas Adipurush earned Rs 393 crore, reportedly on a budget of Rs 500 crore. Despite the vast difference in budgets, Hanuman’s financial success highlights the efficient utilization of resources compared to Adipurush.
