Woolworths under fire as 100% Aussie Norco milk is dumped from 90 stores

Woolworths supermarket is under fire over revelations Norco milk has been dumped from 90 stores.

Norco is a 100 per cent Australian farmed owned dairy company that’s been in operation for 129 years, producing milk from 190 dairy farms in NSW and Queensland.

The popular range was voted Australia’s favourite milk by Canstar in 2020, and has a loyal following of supporters across Australia.

“Buying only Norco milk is very important, if you care anything about our farmers etc. It’s my little way of supporting,” said one customer.

But now a Woolworths spokesperson has confirmed that the supermarket giant will no longer sell Norco in its Metro stores.

“Customers are still able to purchase Norco milk in all our supermarkets across the country,” the spokesperson told 7NEWS.com.au.

“However in our Woolworths Metro stores, we are no longer stocking Norco as we continue to tailor our Metro store ranges to local demand.”

Customers have already taken to social media to voice their disapproval over the move.

“Was told yesterday that Woolworths have deleted Norco milk,” said one Facebook used.

“Extremely disappointing, told them I will now buy from Aldi and IGA. I am in the Penrith (Sydney) area.”

Another said on Woolworths’ official Facebook page: “Why kick another Australian owned and farmed business? Disgusted you have axed Norco milk from your shelves!”

On the Woolworths website, there is no Norco milk or cream products available for sale — with only two Norco cheese products and three Norco ice cream varieties available.

When you search all varieties of Norco milk on the Woolworths site, the varieties come up as “out of stock”.

In an additional twist, Norco states that 2L cartons of its Full Cream Milk is “available at Coles” on its website — with no mention of Woolworths.

7NEWS.com.au has reached out to Norco for additional comment.

Norco says its proud history of producing milk for Australians spans more than a century.

“We started making our rich, delicious full cream milk over 100 years ago. Since then, not much has changed. It’s just as delicious and wholesome as ever!” the company states on its website.

“Our full cream milk is still brought to you by a co-operative of passionate Norco dairy farmers in Northern New South Wales and South East Queensland and always will be.

“It’s permeate free, and chock-full of protein, calcium, and other goodness. Actually, come to think of it, the only things we have added over the years are awards!”
